At Large Courses

We are delighted that you are interested in taking advantage of the educational and clinical training resources available through CRPC. The following is a brief sketch of important details. Two courses will be open in the 2016-17 academic year to students at large. Each of the following courses runs for ninety (90) minutes, and will award three (3) graduate credit hours and 45-hours of CEUs:

SCF 900: Religious Culture & Tradition In and Beyond the 50-Minute Hour. This course examines theories within psychoanalytic discourse that speak to the clinical aspects of religious experience from an ecumenical and inter-religious perspective. The course will also examine the religions of the world in conversation with an overview of primary sociological and anthropological theories of religion. Students will also be encouraged to bring in and discuss clinical case material that reflects applications of these theories and belief systems.

CTh 900: Foundational Psychoanalysis & Religion. This course presents an overview of the foundational theories of Freud and the British school of object relations, with a focus on the theoretical underpinnings of the self psychological movement. The course will also devote significant time integrating these theories with religious experience.

Each course runs for a full year, in three academic quarters of ten (10) weeks each. They are scheduled for the 2016-17 academic year, as such:

  • Autumn Quarter: September 23-December 2

  • Winter Quarter: January 6-March 10

  • Spring Quarter: March 24-June 9

Tuition is $1750 per course.
