Individual psychotherapy is usually provided on a weekly or twice-weekly basis, and can often run between 45 to 55 minutes, depending on your needs and circumstances. We recognize how important it is to find the right therapist. Couples often request psychotherapy with us, seeking services for an number of significant concerns, problems, or other important needs. These can involve improving or developing the overall quality of a relationship to undertaking pre-marital counseling. We welcome couples of any variety, including those of both the same or opposite sex, as well as those who are engaged, married, or otherwise partnered.

Now in its fourth year, the “Clinic” represents one of the unique aspects of our treatment services. In this setting, adult clients can receive long-term, psychodynamic psychotherapy on a low-to-no fee basis, depending on one’s financial circumstances. The “Clinic” is staffed by talented interns and fellows from CRPC’s rigorous training program, blending the study of spiritual and/or religious experience with the study of contemporary psychoanalysis and Self Psychology. They are clergy and mental health professionals, seeking to deepen and broaden their clinical skills, as well as doctoral and masters-level students, who join us from the esteemed clinical programs of the theological seminaries in the Chicago area.The interns receive regular supervision by staff and faculty members of the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy.

Periodically we offer various psychotherapy groups. These include a Body/Mind/Movement Psychotherapy Group, Couples Group, a Grief and Loss Group, a LGBTQI People of Faith Group, and a Clergy Consultation Group.

The Center offers consultative services to individuals, couples, and groups, including churches, synagogues, mosques, and other organizations. Staff members present workshops, retreats, lectures, or presentations on a variety of topics related to the spiritual and psychological dimensions of many life issues. In addition, staff members are available as a resource in crisis situations that may emerge within the congregational setting. Staff members also provide professional supervision for mental health counselors.
